Neuman Systems Model in perioperative nursing care for adolescents with juvenile idiopathic scoliosis

ABSTRACT Objective: To implement the nursing process, based on Neuman Systems Model and International Classification of Nursing Practice terminology, in care an adolescent who underwent corrective surgery for juvenile idiopathic scoliosis. Method: This is a qualitative study type single case, with triangulation data collection techniques (formal clinical interview, notes field diary medical record information), developed 17-year-old indication surgery. The empirical materials generated interviews carried out at admission discharge, observation information were treated categorical content analysis. Results: categories personal condition, anxiety, selfconcept, meaningful people, facilitating health resources, school, free time leisure recurrent. Diagnoses defined focus Anxiety, Knowledge pain management (control) Willingness (or readiness) to learn, associating them respective interventions. Conclusion: contributed assess recognize stressors theoretically base process. classification allowed systematizing records, elements practice, unifying vocabulary codes.
